On the Daily Basis, Langar is served to mammoth number of People and that is no less than 50 thousand every day. At the time of Holidays and Religious Occasions, the number goes often up to 1 Lakh easily.

The food given in Langar is very simple, vegetarian and most importantly, Nutritious. Mostly Roti/Chapati are given with Daal(lentils), and sometimes Kheer is given as a dessert. The best part of eating Langar is that it gives you some kind of relaxation which is just impossible describing through Words.
3. Two Kitchens with Huge Utensils
There are two Kitchens where the Langar is prepared for the Devotees. There are 11 Plates (Tawa), several machines for sieving and kneading dough, several burners and some other Utensils. And the best part is that on the normal Days, all the dishes are Handmade by the sewadars which is not a easy task.
4. 25 Thousand Roti’s in 1 Hour
Yes, you heard it right. On Every special and Religious Occasion, Roti’s are made from Roti making Machine which Churn’s out 25,000 Roti’s in 1 Hour very Easily. This Roti making machine was donated by a Lebanon based Devotee.
5. Huge use of raw material to make Langar
It’s even not easy to imagine the amount of raw material is used to make Langar for thousands. Near about 50 quintals of Wheat, 14 quintals of Rice, 18 quintals of Daal and 7 quintals of milk are consumed every day to make the Langar. And 100 Gas Cylinders are also used to cook the food for Devotes.
6. Most Hygienic Langar
The Langar of Golden Temple is special because it’s very hygienic and prepared with full care. Dirty plates are cleaned by the volunteers and going by the process of cleaning the plates, it’s by 5 times before it’s used again. So they serve you the most Hygienic Langar.
7. Enjoy Langar with 5 thousand people
There are two dining halls for the Devotes to eat their Langar, and very easily 5 Thousand people can eat at one time in this combined capacity hall. People sit down on the mats on Floor and then they are served the food by the Volunteers. And it’s the best feeling to eat the dinner with people from various walks of Life.
